Dr Stephen Mason (Steve) joined GSK Consumer Healthcare in 2005 as Medical Director for Sensodyne. Previously he was Vice President & General Manager of Hill Top Research Oral Care Division a specialist Contract Research Organisation. Originally a PhD chemist (Manchester) Steve is an active and respected member of the Oral Health research community for almost 30 years, previously at Colgate Palmolive, Quintiles and Hill Top Research. He is a member of ORCA (European Association of Caries Research), IADR (International Association of Dental Research) EADPH (European Association of Dental Public Health and BASCD (British Association for the Study of Community Dentistry). Steve has published over 40 manuscripts together with many poster-abstract presentations at congress’s . Many are on the design, performance and benefits of Oral Healthcare products, the associated epidemiology of dental conditions treated /managed by Oral Healthcare products or impact of dental conditions on consumers/patients Quality of Life. Today his main research interests are mineralised tissue research (cariology, erosion and dentine hypersensitivity), behavioural science and dental public health.
