Nader Nadershahi Reappointed to the California Health Workforce Education and Training Council
On March 13, Nader Nadershahi, D.D.S, M.B.A., Ed.D., Dean of the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, was reappointed by California governor Gavin Newsom to the California Health Workforce Education and Training Council, an appointment that Dr. Nadershahi has held since 2021.
The California Health Workforce Education and Training Council is dedicated to helping develop a health workforce that meets the state’s needs. The Council comprises members that represent graduate medical education and training programs, health professions ranging from primary care to behavioral health, and consumer representatives. As a board member, Dr. Nadershahi has been involved in presenting recommendations on the education and training of the oral health workforce. At the Council’s March 13 meeting, Dr. Nadershahi was co-presenter of the Oral Health Recommendations Discussion.
Dr. Nadershahi has also been actively involved in organized dentistry and dental education through several other leadership roles, including roles at the California Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the American Dental Education Association, among other groups.
