Dr. Judi E. Haber Named 2025 AAN Living Legend

Santa Fe Group Board Member Dr. Judi Haber has been honored as a Living Legend by the American Academy of Nursing, one of the highest distinctions in the nursing profession. 

With a six-decade career spanning clinical practice, policy leadership, research, and education, Dr. Haber has been a pioneer in psychiatric nursing and in advancing the integration of oral and systemic health. She co-chaired the first task force to establish Scope and Standards for Psychiatric‑Mental Health Nurse Practitioners and helped secure landmark Medicare reimbursement for advanced practice nurses. Her founding of the Oral Health Nursing Education and Practice (OHNEP) program was recognized by the AAN as a breakthrough “Edge Runner” model in 2019 for its innovative contributions to health system transformation. 

Dr. Haber currently serves as Secretary of the Santa Fe Group and Chair of its Communications Committee, playing a key role in shaping the Group’s voice and mission. Her enduring commitment to health equity and interdisciplinary care continues to inspire our community. 

The Santa Fe Group joins in celebrating this extraordinary recognition of Dr. Haber’s lasting impact on health policy, collaboration across disciplines, and oral health leadership. The AAN will formally honor her at its annual Health Policy Conference this October.
