Celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month

From September 15 to October 15 we honor the histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities across Latin America and the United States. It is a moment to celebrate identity and heritage while also reflecting on the opportunities and challenges that shape our communities today.

For the Santa Fe Group, this month is also a reminder of the essential connection between heritage, culture, and health. Oral health is deeply tied to equity, access, and respect for every person’s story. In Hispanic and Latin American communities across the United States, dental care often reflects broader challenges: fewer opportunities for preventive services, financial barriers, and language or cultural gaps that can limit care. Addressing these challenges means listening to voices from the community, celebrating cultural pride, and ensuring solutions that advance health for all.
